Despite her ditziness, Anna is just freaking adorable. I definitely think rosemaling should be the next big thing in fashion, because Frozen has highlighted how beautiful this Norwegian folk art can be on clothes. I've given this cosplay crocus earrings because it's the flower on Arendelle's crest, symbolising rebirth.

Let it go

I am so obsessed with Frozen and Rise of the Guardians, I don't know what to do with myself. Both had promotional material and posters that looked absolutely crap but now I've watched them I love them to bits and can't wait to rewatch them.

New favourite pairing: Elsa x Jack. "She's perfect. He's perfect. So they're perfect togeeeeether!" No, but really. Elsa is all uptight "be the good girl you always have to be" and Jack is a punky rebel. They both have cryokinetic powers (Elsa's stronger, but Jack can fly), they both have stunning hair, they're both fabulous and sassy and beautiful.

The way I've tried to exorcise all my Feelings is through crap fanart. Enjoy!

I had a lovely birthday over the weekend - I spent Saturday night in a play barn (because I am All Grown Up now), burying myself in the ball pool and screaming whilst plummeting down the vertical slide. It was amazing. There's loads of super neat swag I received that I need to show you, maybe this weekend if I have time and the light's good enough for photos.

Oh, and if, like me, you think Let It Go is the most fabulous song ever, you'll probably love the French version. "Le froid est pour moi le prix de la liberté!"

"Here I am, a rabbit-hearted girl"

Cardigan: Les Folies, TK Maxx
Dress: M&S
Belt: sister's wardrobe
Socks: Pringle, TK Maxx
Boots: Rockport, TK Maxx

This is one of my favourite things to wear right now - it's comfortable, casual, and completely me. Maybe it's something to do with the combination of my favourite dress with my favourite boots with my favourite bag?

Maybe you remember me reviewing this Restyle violin bag; I'm so chuffed how well it goes with my wardrobe. Violining is a major part of my life, and though it's simply standard that Chinese kids are virtuosos, I'm proud to call myself a violinist who was never forced into the instrument, and genuinely enjoys playing in orchestras and quartets and things. So I feel like I've earned this gorgeous bag!

It's my birthday tomorrow. One less year of free dental care and glasses vouchers, but hey, at least I'll be able to buy knives!

Dunban, glasses

on deviantART
The reference picture I found on Texts From Xenoblade, which is a mind-numbing and sometimes very funny place but just what one needs when suffering from Xenoblade withdrawal. I painted colour straight over the sketch, because I hate tracing over sketches because my lines are always wobbly and uneven and it's so frustrating.

Glasses make Dunban look more intellectual - they make everyone look more intellectual, even Reyn, who is as sharp as a ball - but in fact Dunban is not that smart either. I mean, look at the unsavoury characters he hangs out with. So don't ask him really hard geography questions, or what the latest food fad is in Colony 9.

So it looks like skorts are in fashion now? My very stylish English classmate M came in wearing some black ones. From the point of view of practicality, I think they're great - they combine the look of a miniskirt (with a funny hem!) with the security of shorts. What do you think of them? Have you seen them in shops?

Papercraft Bulbasaur

My first ever starter was Bulbasaur. I don't know why - since then I've very much gone off grass types; while my Serperior Snivellus was nice to look at, he was weak to eeeverything and still using tackle at level fifty. That is just not on. This Bulbasaur papercraft, however, is one of my favourites. Though its difficulty is suitable for beginners like me, the end product looks really good because of all the curves. It's fully closed at the bottom, which made it quite hard in the end for me, but hey, no one sees that part.

March wishlist

Now that I've used up my four chances to not mess up getting into dental school, I've been giving myself a break this weekend before I start on trying to pass my exams. I'm quite materialistic at the best of times, but it's around my birthday I'm the worst - I can't help but enjoy looking up nice things I really want. The search for the Sherlock scarf is going to be pretty futile seeing as it's practically spring already but I'll keep an eye out. I'm still waiting for the price of the brogues to be reduced but if it never happens I don't mind. After getting a new watch strap for an old watch I found in the drawer I technically no longer need another watch. But the Triforce necklace is a matter of time - I've wanted it for ages and perhaps this is a good opportunity to ask for it?

On the subject of watches, I'm very, very particular about them. I've worn one every single day for as long as I can remember and I feel naked without it. My watch must be analogue, round, waterproof to at least 30m and have a date display; these features are non-negotiable. I used to insist on glow-in-the-dark hands, but I've noticed it barely works - it's only worth it if the entire face is glow-in-the-dark. After a couple of years in a watch with a metal strap, I've also decided that I will only be using leather straps in the future, because my hair always snags in the metal, and it's heavy.

Hope you've been lucky as me with the weather this weekend!

Papercraft Gible

In Diamond, Cel gave me one of his best Gibles. I love Gible because it's cute and terrifying, because of what it will become. Its evolutions aren't really lookers, but will pound you into the ground. Quadruply weak to ice? I barely noticed. Garchomp is awesome.

I chose to make the male Gible because the notch in the fin is more fun to do. I unfortunately bent the tips of a couple of its teeth, oops. I am going to be a great dentist.

"So dust off your highest hopes"

Jumper: Next
Boots: my sister's

This is very much one of my go-to outfit formats: a comfy slouchy jumper, a cute skirt, and some warm boots. I found these boots in the garage - they belong to my sister - and while they're a tiny bit small for me, they're very cosy, and different to all my other boots.

Once again I have started another Pokemon game - this time it's Leaf Green, and after playing the first half twice, I'm going to see it through - and once again it is ruining my life. What will be my 13374 team is already assembled: Wartortle, Graveler, Kadabra, Vulpix, Jolteon and Gastly. If you know your first gen Pokemon you might notice that three of these need to be traded to make their final evolution. That's where my friend Ginge comes in - she said she'll help me out with that. Thanks, Ginge!

Something very important I noticed: just look at this Metapod. Look at it.
from Redbubble
Doesn't it look so done with life? This is how I feel. I feel done with life, just like this Metapod. Because my final uni interview is late next week. I just want it out of my hands, but even more I want to be put out of my misery and given an offer. Please please please please please please.
